What will they talk about on MyDD after Hillary looses Pa. or whenever she finally admits reality? Why do other normally rational people hold on to the myth of their leader that she can defy the laws of mathematics and magically alter the laws of nature like some mythic god? It demonstrates that passion is the enemy of rationality.

When I was trying to come up with a handle a few years ago, I figured a lot of people would have read Infinite Jest...I thought it might end up as our generation's Catch-22 or Slaughterhouse Five.

3 1/2 years later, I could count on both hands the number of people who've actually recognized the name. :\

Being in the ad/media biz, I can say pretty definitively that Kos is probably significantly disappointed in his nos.

They were expecting much bigger spikes in traffic, like in '04 (i.e.: this year versus '07 nos.).

For a different perspective, their audience is actually bigger than many major-market (top 50) tv stations, in terms of audience. One day, perhaps in the not-too-distant future, the 'net will command ad rates like the tv stations do now, too. But, until then, Kos will just have to settle for acting like he's a big media mogul, instead of actually being one.

Then again, if he keeps chasing eyeballs at the expense of his content going drastically downhill  (and it definitely is, no question 'bout it), he'll continue to reap what he's been sowing for the past few months, and that'll be it.

There's one difference between the blogosphere and traditional media, and that is the barrier to entry online is almost non-existent. Anyone can compete. Audience is much more fleeting, except for those with $100-million-plus budgets to  keep building their brands (a la Yahoo!, Google, etc.).

There's always going to be someone coming along with a better idea when it comes to online media.

Now, with convergence, however, it'll get quite interesting.

Maybe Kos is hoping for a buyout from someone like MSNBC? The way he talks about Olbermann--whom I think doesn't hold a candle to someone like Colbert--it makes one wonder. If Markos waits another five years, it just might happen! Who knows? After all, their politics are beginning to converge, too! Then again, MSNBC lives on in the culture established by Roger Ailes (now at Fox).

It seems that the way you see it, Obama supporters' very existence here is "against peace."

As I explained in another thread tonight, I've called out Obama supporters, asked them to tone things down, and generally done my best to keep things peaceful. I can honestly say that with the exception of sricki, I have NEVER seen one of you do the same with your own. In fact, calling us names is frequently met with recommends and approving comments.

Come to think of it, this is the first time I recall seeing you actually comment instead of leaving a drive-by troll rating.

If you want to talk constructively about moderating the discourse here, I'm all for it. But if you're just going to show up and hurl accusations, then  don't expect me to take you seriously.

Political discourse should not turn into intercourse. Diversity of thought matters.

I have come here as well because I appreciate the diversity of ideas.  If only Hillary bloggers were welcomed,  one might as well break out the warming liquid and turn down the lights.  Sure its great for a weeks, maybe even a few months, but after a while, one wants some variety, maybe even a little fight to keep things fresh and stimulated?

Nope.  Crappy music and religious talk radio.  Don't know if the early morning and late afternoon shows are still on the air.  It was a huge mistake for progressive radio to further segment its market with their relentless anti-Clinton content.  If I want to hear rants about Hillary, I can tune in to Limbaugh.
